República Dominicana. – Diputados de la oposición reaccionaron este domingo a la decisión del presidente Luis Abinader de retirar del Congreso Nacional el proyecto de Ley de Explotación y Tráfico Ilícito de Migrantes sometido por el Poder Ejecutivo el pasado 12 de diciembre del 2022.
El diputado por la provincia Azua, Luis Antonio Vargas, consideró «es una pena que el Gobierno tenga un discurso hacia el pueblo y otro por debajo de la mesa».
Vargas catalogó el proyecto de ley como un «adefesio jurídico» y «una traición a los idearios de Juan Pablo Duarte y los Trinitarios».
«Da vergüenza que a estas alturas tengamos un Gobierno que juegue con los intereses de la Patria. Él sabe que no se lo permitiremos que jamás este pueblo será cómplice de algo así, lo mejor que hizo fue retirarlo porque de lo contrario estaremos en las calles defendiendo la dominicanidad», enfatizó Vargas, diputado por el Partido de la Liberación Dominicana (PLD).
Por su lado, el diputado por el partido Opción Democrática, José Horacio Rodriguez, manifestó que el gobierno es reincidente en cambiar de parecer.
«Veo que es parte de un patrón del gobierno, de presentar temas y luego echarlos para atrás al ver la reacción de la ciudadanía».
Otro congresista que se expresó con relación al tema fue Gustavo Sánchez, diputado por el Partido de la Liberación Dominicana (PLD), aseguró que el presidente Abinader decidió retirar la pieza legislativa por presión mediática.
«El presidente se vio obligado (a retirar proyecto de ley) por la presión mediática de casi todos los sectores», sostuvo Sánchez.
Asimismo, afirmó que el proyecto no es de su autoria, sino de los organismos de derechos humanos que funcionan en la Organización de las Naciones Unidas (ONU) y más, Abinader «se comprometio con ellos, pero al notar su baja aceptacion o repudio, el penso mucho mas en su popularidad que estaba en juego».
El proyecto contempla derechos y acciones a favor de las víctimas de trata. También la víctimas podrán gestionar un permiso de trabajo, así como cualquier otro que les sea necesario ante las instituciones estatales correspondientes.
