Son colombianos los seis detenidos por el homicidio en Quito del candidato presidencial ecuatoriano Fernando Villavicencio, informó el Gobierno de Ecuador este jueves.
El ministro del Interior, Juan Zapata, anteriormente había ofrecido una rueda de prensa en la cual solo indicó que los sospechosos eran extranjeros. Sin embargo, posteriormente notificó la nacionalidad.
Zapata resaltó que los aprehendidos, «pertenecen a grupos de delincuencia organizada», pero no mencionó a ninguno.
Los sujetos fueron identificados como: Andrés Manuel M.O., José Neider L.H., Adey Fernando G.G., Camilo Andrés R.R., Jules Osmin C.A., y Jhon Gregore R.G, reportó el diario local El Universo.
Los seis colombianos fueron trasladados a la Unidad de Flagrancia de la Fiscalía General del Estado, donde murió el individuo señalado como autor del atentado.
Villavicencio, de 59 años y postulante por el movimiento Construye, fue asesinado mientras salía de un mitin de su campaña, efectuado en el auditorio del Colegio Anderson, al norte de la capital ecuatoriana.
