La Fiscalía General de Colombia radicó este lunes el escrito de acusación en contra de Nicolás Petro Burgos, hijo mayor del presidente Gustavo Petro, por los delitos de lavado de activos y enriquecimiento ilícito. Con esto, confirmó que se cayó el acuerdo de colaboración que había pedido el mismo político, ante la contundencia de las pruebas en su contra.
La diligencia se realizó en horas de la mañana ante los Juzgados Penales del Circuito Especializados de Barranquilla (Atlántico) y, según señaló el ente acusador, dentro del término de ley. Asimismo, presentó solicitud formal para llevar a cabo el juicio en el que se determinará su responsabilidad en los delitos endilgados, y luego de que se comprobará un incremento patrimonial de $1.053 millones.
La determinación se da a conocer justo después de una serie de hechos en las que el caso cambió su curso. El primero de ellos, la visita del mandatario Petro al exasambleísta, el lunes 21 de agosto, cuando lo visitó en su residencia, ubicada en Puerto Colombia. Y en la que, según el implicado, solo se habló de asuntos familiares; aunque empezó a gestarse la teoría de que habría un cambio de estrategia en su caso.
