Al menos 125 personas perdieron la vida a causa de una explosión ocurrida ayer, producida por un tanque de combustible en la ciudad de Khankendi, en la región de Karabaj, Azerbaiyán.
La ministra armenia de Sanidad, Anait Avanesyan, afirmó en un comunicado que el número de muertos por la explosión aumentó de 20 a 125. Asimismo, afirmó que los cuerpos fueron llevados a Armenia y dijo que se estaban determinando las identidades de kas víctimas.
La tensión entre dos países vecinos -Armenia y Azerbaiyán- por Nagorno-Karabaj se prolonga desde hace mucho tiempo. Recientemente, las fuerzas militares de Azerbaiyán llevaron a cabo una operación militar en esta región. Después de eso, muchos armenios étnicos se van de allí.
