El fiscal general del Estado de Bolivia, Juan Lanchipa, anunció que se presentó la acusación formal contra la expresidenta de facto Jeanine Añez por el delito de genocidio en la masacre de Sacaba y Senkata en noviembre de 2019, que provocó 20 muertos y múltiples heridos, y pedirá que se aplique la pena máxima de 30 años de cárcel.
En rueda de prensa, Lanchipa precisó que se solicitará la pena máxima condenatoria porque hubo una «grave vulneración a los derechos humanos» y «ejecuciones sumarias».
Además de Añez, también se acusa al exministro de Gobierno, Arturo Murillo; de Defensa, Luis Fernando López; y de Hidrocarburos, Víctor Hugo Zamora. En la lista también están altos mandos militares y policiales durante la gestión de la expresidenta de facto.
Áñez fue condenada en junio de 2022 a 10 años de prisión por los delitos de incumplimiento de deberes y resoluciones contrarias a la Constitución durante los acontecimientos de 2019, cuando se llevó a cabo el golpe de Estado en contra de Evo Morales.
