El ministro de Medio Ambiente de Brasil, Ricardo Salles, renunció este miércoles al cargo en medio de las acusaciones por, presuntamente, promover el tráfico de madera a Europa y EE.UU.
El presidente Jair Bolsonaro exoneró a Salles a pedido suyo, y nombró en su reemplazo a Joaquim Alvaro Pereira Leite. Hasta hoy, Pereira Leite oficiaba como titular de la Secretaria da Amazonía y Servicios Ambientales de Brasil.

En julio del año pasado, la Fiscalía brasileña pidió la destitución del ahora exministro de Medio Ambiente por «destrucción dolosa de las estructuras de protección ambiental» que han contribuido «decisivamente» a aumentar la deforestación y los incendios, especialmente en la región amazónica.

When I initially left a comment I appear to have
