Centro Sismológico Nacional de Chile, informó que una serie de 15 sismos ha tenido lugar en la noche de este sábado en el mar frente a las costas del desierto chileno de Atacama.
El primero, de magnitud 5,9 se registró a 50 kilómetros al suroriente de Huasco y ocurrió a las 21:01 (hora local). La profundidad del movimiento telúrico fue de 24 kilómetros.

Entre sus réplicas se destaca una que alcanzó una magnitud 5,8, pero se originó a una profundidad de 36 kilómetros.
No se reportan víctimas ni daños materiales.
