Mientras Turquía lucha por tercer día consecutivo contra los masivos incendios forestales en el sur del país, las autoridades sospechan que habrían sido provocados.
El ministro de Agricultura y Silvicultura de Turquía, Bekir Pakdemirli, afirmó que entre el 28 y el 31 de julio se registraron 101 incendios. 91 de ellos han sido controlados. Mientras hasta la fecha, se han contabilizado seis víctimas mortales.
Sin embargo, el resto todavía amenaza a asentamientos y lugares turísticos del país. En particular, este sábado el fuego se acercó a la ciudad de Bodrum. Los turistas fueron evacuados de sus hoteles. En imágenes captadas en la zona se puede ver el bosque ardiendo cerca de los edificios.
En otra grabación, se ven varios animales huyendo del fuego.
Por su parte, el presidente de Turquía, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, declaró las áreas afectadas como zonas catastróficas. Hablando en la ciudad de Manavgat, el mandatario aseveró que no quiere politizar los incendios, pero está «considerando la posibilidad de que fueran provocados».
«Es nuestro deber encontrar a los que quemaron nuestros bosques Con el permiso de Alá, Turquía pronto borrará las huellas de estos incendios», escribió Erdogan en su cuenta de Twitter.
