En el centro de clasificación postal de Peschiera Borromeo fue interceptado un sobre destinado al Papa Francisco que contenía tres balas de pistola y un mensaje referente a transacciones financieras en el Vaticano .
La carta fue incautada por los carabineros de la empresa San Donato Milanese que están investigando con colegas de la unidad de investigación de Milán bajo la dirección de la fiscal de turno de la Fiscalía de Milán, la fiscal adjunta Alessandra Cerreti.
El sobre, según se ha sabido, contenía tres perdigones tipo Flobert, calibre 9 milímetros. El texto, escrito con bolígrafo de forma apenas legible, está dirigido a «El Papa – Ciudad del Vaticano – Piazza San Pietro en Roma».
Los carabineros fueron alertados durante la noche por el jefe del centro, que se encuentra en via Archimede en Peschiera Borromeo. Encontrado por los empleados durante las operaciones de clasificación y ahora está siendo examinado por la Sección de Socorro del arma.
