El presidente de Guinea, Alpha Condé, quien fue detenido por las fuerzas especiales del país durante el golpe de Estado que orquestaron el pasado 5 de septiembre, anunció que no tiene intención de firmar la carta de renuncia.
De a cuerdo a un medio local, Condé, que se encuentra en el Palacio del Pueblo, en Conakri, la capital de Guinea, aseveró durante la visita de los representantes de la Comunidad Económica de Estados de África Occidental que «preferiría que lo mataran antes de firmar» su renuncia.

Según se informa, los integrantes del grupo de fuerzas especiales no tienen intención de causar ningún daño al presidente, si bien exigen que permanezca en un segundo plano.
