El presidente de El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, descartó la inclusión del derecho al aborto, la eutanasia y el matrimonio entre personas del mismo sexo en la propuesta de reformas constitucionales que someterá a la Asamblea Legislativa (parlamento).
«He decidido, para que no quede ninguna duda, no proponer ningún tipo de reforma a ningún artículo que tenga que ver con el derecho a la vida (desde el momento de la concepción), con el matrimonio (manteniendo únicamente el diseño original, un hombre y una mujer) o con la eutanasia», informó Bukele.
El mandatario recibió el pasado 15 de septiembre, bicentenario de la independencia nacional, un proyecto de reformas constitucionales elaborado por un equipo a cargo del vicepresidente de la República, Félix Ulloa.
Bukele valoró el anteproyecto porque salda una deuda histórica con el país y desmonta un supuesto sistema de privilegios, rechazó lo que consideró «una campaña sucia» de la oposición, en referencia a la eventual legalización del aborto, la eutanasia y el matrimonio igualitario.
«Nada más alejado de la realidad. Ustedes me conocen desde hace muchos años y saben que no propondría ninguna de esas cosas, por más presiones internacionales que tenga», informó el jefe de Estado, quien afirmó que revisará, consultará y modificará la propuesta antes de enviarla a los diputados para su estudio.
Bukele abogó por concentrarse en otros artículos para conseguir una Constitución que garantice el derecho al agua, aire limpio, educación de calidad, salud, vivienda, Internet, inclusión financiera, créditos sin usura, seguridad, alimentación, un salario justo y una pensión digna.
«Una Constitución que permita la participación de la población en la toma de decisiones y que les dé verdaderos derechos políticos, algo que actualmente no tienen», enfatizó el mandatario, quien abogó por enfilar al futuro, pero manteniendo los principios y la fe en dios.
