El Talibán ordenó que solo los niños regresen a las aulas, excluyendo a todas las niñas y a las mujeres que ejercen como maestras en el país.
Además, el viernes fue clausurado el Ministerio para Asuntos de la Mujer, encargado de velar por los derechos de las mujeres afganas desde 2001.
Fue reemplazado por el Ministerio para la Propagación de la Virtud y la Prevención del Vicio, un organismo para hacer cumplir estrictas doctrinas religiosas.
