La conferencia episcopal ha reiterado hoy jueves que no tiene intención de investigar los abusos de menores en el clero y, por tanto, seguirá siendo una excepción en los países católicos occidentales, junto a Italia.
Paralelo a esto los obispos de Alemania, Francia o Irlanda, entre otros países, han emprendido profundas investigaciones, que han sacado a la luz miles de casos.
El portavoz de la Conferencia Episcopal Española (CEE), Luis Argüello, ha repetido: “No vamos a hacer seguramente de manera proactiva un programa de investigación general”. Ha explicado que su labor se limitará a atender “a cualquier persona” que se acerque a las oficinas de atención a las víctimas creadas en cada diócesis o a las asociaciones que trabajan con ellas.
Este insistió en que los casos de abusos a menores han disminuido en los últimos años, pero investigaciones insisten en que solo el último año se han registrado 358 casos, con al menos 908 víctimas.
En Francia, la comisión independiente que investiga la pederastia en el clero, y que presentará su informe final la semana que viene, ha calculado ya que hay al menos 10.000 víctimas desde 1950, y en Alemania son 3.667 desde 1946.
