El ministro de Turismo de la República Dominicana, David Collado, anunció hoy un acuerdo definitivo entre los taxis turísticos y la plataforma de UBER para operar en los destinos turísticos del país.
Collado calificó el acuerdo de “trascendental” y manifestó que gracias a la gestión del gobierno se impuso el entendimiento.
“Para nosotros el bienestar y la seguridad de los turistas es prioridad y este trascendental acuerdo es una garantía”, dijo el ministro.
En tanto que Santiago Zamora presidente de la Confederación Dominicana de Taxistas Turísticos (Codatatur), indicó que la firma del acuerdo «implica un gran compromiso de evitar las contradicciones en el área de trabajo, ya que el turismo que viene a la República Dominicana podrá observar un clima de paz y de tranquilidad sin las contradicciones existentes».
El acuerdo se hizo oficial después de una reunión de varias horas entre los sindicatos de taxis, representantes de UBER y ASONAHORES, con la mediación del ministro Collado y el director ejecutivo del Instituto Nacional de Tránsito y Transporte Terrestre (INTRANT), Rafael Arias.
Con la firma del acuerdo se pone fin a un viejo conflicto existente entre ambos sectores.
