Un día como hoy, 3 de enero del año 106 antes de Cristo, nació Marco Tulio Cicerón en Arpino, Imperio Romano, actualmente pertenece a Italia. Fue un filósofo, jurista, orador, político y escritor romano que, junto a Lucrecio y a Séneca, pasó a la inmortalidad como fundador de la filosofía romana.
En el rol de jurista, a Cicerón se le considera el más influyente de su época, su retórica y oratoria sentaron precedentes en Roma, al punto que se convirtió en un referente de abogado. Como escritor, enriqueció el idioma latín, le aportó nuevos vocablos derivados del griego. Fue partidario de que a los hijos había que educarlos en valores.
