El argentino Manu Ginóbili, que jugó 16 temporadas de la NBA con los San Antonio Spurs y ganó cuatro anillos de campeón, fue anunciado como finalista entre los candidatos elegibles para la promoción de 2022 al Salón de la Fama Naismith Memorial Basketball.
Según amplió oficialmente la NBA a través de sus redes sociales, la decisión oficial se anunciará el próximo 2 de abril.
El bahiense deberá conseguir al menos 18 votos positivos entre 24 electores para lograr quedarse con el cupo.
Los otros finalistas anunciados fueron Tim Hardaway (Heat/Warriors), Michael Cooper (Lakers), Marques Johnson (Bucks) y Swin Cash (WNBA). En cuanto a entrenadores, el podio lo completan George Karl, Bob Huggins (West Virginia), Marianne Stanley, Lindsay Whalen y Leta Andrews, mientras que en árbitros fue seleccionado Hugh Evans.
