El presidente de México, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, aseguró que «ya no puede más» y que cuando termine su mandato en 2024 se retirará de la política.
«Ya no puedo más, cierro mi ciclo y me retiro», dijo a los medios de comunicación durante un recorrido destinado a los reporteros por el Palacio Nacional.
«Ya no voy a ejercer el noble oficio de la política, porque cuando yo termine, me retiro, me jubilo, y ya no vuelvo a participar en nada que tenga que ver con la vida pública. Ni conferencias, ni visitas a ningún estado, ni fuera del país, ningún cargo. Nada, nada», reiteró el mandatario, quien añadió que se dedicará «a caminar, leer y escribir».
López Obrador comentó que en 2012, cuando perdió las elecciones presidenciales por segunda vez, estuvo «a punto» de anunciar que no volvería a ser «candidato a nada».
