El presidente Luis Abinader no está de acuerdo con los que proponen la eliminación del Ministerio de la Mujer y por el contrario dijo que en dos años le ha aumentado “el presupuesto desde que llegué al poder en el reformulado del 2021 y 2022 le hemos aumentado un 56%”
Al ser entrevistado por ocho mujeres periodistas en el programa El Día, el jefe de Estado dijo que el Día Internacional de la Mujer este año es un momento muy especial con esta crisis internacional.
Entre los aportes que destaca ha hecho su Gobierno para enfrentar la violencia contra la mujer, Abinader destaca que de tres casas de acogidas y dos en constricción que encontró al asumir el poder, las llevó a 15. Las casas de acogida son refugios temporales donde llevan a las mujeres que corren peligro de muerte por las amenazas de sus parejas hasta que el agresor es sometido a la justicia.
“Hemos mejorado las estadísticas en aquellas mujeres que denuncian. Yo le pido, le imploro, le ruego a todas las mujeres que están siendo afectadas por violencia de sus parejas que lo denuncien. Hemos llevado de 7 a 14 también las provincias donde está funcionando el 212, las denuncia contra la violencia intrafamiliar” dijo el Jefe del Estado al destacar los medios que hay disponibles para que las mujeres denuncien a sus agresores.
Reconoció que la violencia económica, hace que muchas veces las mujeres no se separen de los agresores, y en ese sentido dijo que están dando ayuda de 10 mil pesos en dos partidas a esas víctimas.
