Asimismo, el mandatario enfrenta un segundo proceso de destitución, el primero se dio en diciembre pasado, pero no fue admitido a trámite por el Parlamento, en esta ocasión, no obstante, se proyectaba una amplia mayoría, hubo 76 votos a favor, 41 en contra y una abstención.
Se opusieron a la medida todos los miembros de Perú Libre (PL) presentes, a excepción de Alfredo Pariona, quien votó en abstención, en un informe el parlamentario explicó que su postura obedece un reclamo al Gobierno y a su bancada por la falta de atención a Huancavelica, región a la que representa. Asimismo, no descartó votar a favor de la vacancia de Castillo: “Si la población me indica, sí”.

Es verdad que estoy en la bancada, pero eso no significa que estoy sujeto a las decisiones de los voceros o dirigentes de partido”, indicaron los oponente, al ser consultado sobre una expresión de su colega Guido Bellido escuchada durante el pleno: “Todos en rojo, ah. Los estoy mirando”.
