Un Boeing 737 operado por China Eastern Airlines con 132 personas a bordo se estrelló en el sur de China, reportaron medios locales este lunes.
De acuerdo a la información preliminar, el avión volaba de la ciudad de Kunming a Cantón, mientras que el fatal accidente ocurrió cerca de la ciudad-prefectura de Wuzhou, en el sur del país.
«En este momento, se confirma que el vuelo se ha estrellado», dijo la CAAC, y agregó que había activado su respuesta de emergencia y que había enviado un equipo de rescate al lugar.
El aparato transportaba 123 pasajeros y 9 miembros de la tripulación, en total 132 personas, si bien previamente los medios chinos habían mencionado 133 personas a bordo.
El Boeing 737 se habría estrellado en una zona rural cerca de esa ciudad, y «provocó un incendio», dijo un reportero en televisión china CCTV, citando a la oficina de coordinación de emergencias local.
