La Fiscalía francesa anunció ayer la apertura de una investigación en relación con un informe de la Oficina Europea de Lucha contra el Fraude (OLAF) que acusa a la candidata ultraderechista a la presidencia de Francia, Marine Le Pen, y a varios miembros de su partido de malversar 617.000 euros de los fondos de la Unión Europea.
Se trata de delitos monetarios presuntamente cometidos mientras la política, que ahora está imputada por el gasto indebido de 137.000 euros, era diputada del Parlamento Europeo, detalla el periódico francés Mediapart, que publicó este sábado un artículo, citando el informe de OLAF, en el que se revelaban los presuntos fraudes presupuestarios de Le Pen y de otros tres miembros del partido Agrupación Nacional.
Según el documento, los fondos fueron gastados en cuestiones internas del partido derechista Frente Nacional (Agrupación Nacional desde 2018), como la adquisición de productos promocionales y de vino para el congreso partidario en 2014, así como el transporte y alojamiento en hoteles para sus miembros. En general, las malversaciones citadas por la OLAF se refieren al período transcurrido entre 2007 y 2014.
«El comportamiento de los cuatro exdiputados (Jean-Marie Le Pen, Bruno Gollnisch, Marine Le Pen y Louis Aliot) ha puesto en peligro la reputación de las instituciones de la UE», reza el informe.
«Sus repetidos actos intencionados a lo largo de varios años y su comportamiento inadecuado, dado el nivel de su cargo y la responsabilidad en el Parlamento Europeo, constituyen motivos suficientes para que estos cuatro exdiputados se responsabilicen de sus graves infracciones», señala el texto.
La OLAF llevó su informe ante la Justicia francesa el pasado 11 de marzo, informa Mediapart.
La primera vuelta de los comicios terminó sin grandes sorpresas, con el actual mandatario, Emmanuel Macron, y la exlíder de Agrupación Nacional, Marine Le Pen, pasando al balotaje, tras obtener el 27,84 % y el 23,15 % de los votos, respectivamente.
