El Gobierno El Salvador activó una línea telefónica para que la ciudadanía denuncie de forma confidencial “el accionar de grupos criminales”, informó la Presidencia este sábado.
La medida llega en momentos en que El Salvador se encuentra bajo un régimen de excepción, implementado desde finales del marzo para controlar la violencia atribuida a las pandillas, principalmente a la Mara Salvatrucha (MS13).
De acuerdo con la nota de prensa, el Gobierno puso a disposición de la población la línea 123 para que “puedan brindar información que ayude a llevar a más terroristas ante la justicia”.
Indicó que “las llamadas a este número son confidenciales, se atenderá las 24 horas y los siete días de la semana”.
La Presidencia añadió que “las instituciones de seguridad todavía se encuentran afinando detalles para la puesta en marcha de un fondo de recompensa” para las personas que con su denuncia “ayuden para la captura de miembros de grupos terroristas”.
Entre el 27 de marzo y ayer viernes más de 29,000 supuestos pandilleros y personas vinculadas con esas bandas han sido capturadas en el marco del estado de excepción.
De los más de 29,000 capturados, 18,000 ya han enfrentado audiencia y se les ha decretado prisión preventiva mientras su caso continúa en investigación, según datos de la Fiscalía citados por la Presidencia.
Las detenciones masivas ha sido la principal apuesta del Ejecutivo de Nayib Bukele durante el estado de excepción, pero hasta el momento sigue sin conocerse si el Gobierno trabaja en un plan que incluya medidas para una solución de fondo de dicho fenómeno.
