El Gobierno de España propuso este martes reformar la nueva ley del aborto, que introduce la baja laboral por dolor menstrual. Se trata de un permiso con prescripción médica, ilimitado y pagado por la Seguridad Social desde el primer día.
La medida es única en Europa y espera «acabar con la vergüenza y el silencio en torno a la regla».
«Depende del trabajo que tengas, si tienes que moverte mucho o estar de pie, a veces simplemente no puedes trabajar y, por supuesto, no puedes evitarlo porque es algo que las mujeres tenemos todos los meses. No podemos evitarlo de ninguna manera. Acabas trabajando con la ayuda de analgésicos y antiinflamatorios. No tienes otra opción. Pero esto está muy bien, deberían haberlo propuesto antes», dice una ciudadana.
Alrededor del 15% de las mujeres sufren un dolor incapacitante en algún momento de su menstruación.
Sin embargo, la propuesta ha generado controversia incluso en el seno del Gobierno de coalición de izquierdas por si pudiera estigmatizar a las mujeres.
Una joven señala que es algo que afecta a «casi la mitad de la población, así que son pequeños pasos. Lo mismo pasó con la baja por maternidad. Si no damos pequeños pasos no podemos avanzar. Así que creo que la sociedad avanza y las leyes también».
Otra mujer opina que aunque «es adecuado dar una atención personalizada a las personas que sufren este problema», también «hay que educar a las empresas y a la sociedad para que sean más sensibles a este tema».
