Un grupo de manifestantes indígenas ha intentado este jueves entrar en la Asamblea Nacional de Ecuador en el día en el que se cumplen once días del paro nacional convocado por la Confederación de Nacionalidades Indígenas del Ecuador (CONAIE) y otras organizaciones sociales por el alza del coste de la vida en el país latiamericano.
Alrededor de las 15.00 horas (hora local) protestantes han forcejeado con las fuerzas de seguridad de Ecuador, que desde la semana pasada custodia la sede del Parlamento ecuatoriano, según ha recogido el diario ‘El Universo’.
La intención de los manifestantes era entrar en la Asamblea Nacional para pedirle al presidente de la misma, Virgilio Saquicela, que se aplique el artículo 130.2 de la Constitución del país por el que los parlamentarios pueden «evaluar a Lasso» y que se busque de esta manera «una salida política a la grave crisis política», según ha detallado el presidente de la Federación Nacional de Organizaciones Campesinas, Indígenas y Negras del Ecuador (FENOCIN), Gary Espinoza.
La Policía no ha permitido que los protestantes accedan a la Asamblea Nacional y ha replegado a la mayoría de ellos hacia el parque El Arbolito utilizando gases lacrimógenos, según el citado diario.
El gobierno abre las puertas de la casa de la cultura
Por otra parte, el Ministerio del Interior ecuatoriano ha accedido a la petición de las organizaciones indigenistas de abrir la Casa de la Cultura Ecuatoriana de Quito, el tradicional lugar de participación ciudadana donde los manisfestantes quieren celebrar sus asambleas.
«Ecuador quiere paz. Ecuador necesita una salida inmediata a este conflicto. Para que no haya violencia, ni tampoco excusas, el día de hoy vamos a permitir que las organizaciones sociales liderales por la CONAIE se convoquen y se reúnan en el ágora de la Casa de la Cultura de manera que puedan llevar a cabo su asamblea con orden y bajo su responsabilidad», ha expresado el ministro del Interior, Francisco Jiménez Pancho en un comunicado compartido en Twitter.
«Este mensaje del Gobierno nacional en aras de diálogo y de la paz tiene como único propósito que cierran los ceses de vías, las manifestaciones violentas, y los ataques en distintos lugares de nuestro país. Y exige como respuesta la libre movilidad de personas y de bienes, especialmente alimentos y medicinas», ha sentenciado.
