El viceministro de Salud Colectiva de la República Dominicana, Eladio Pérez, notificó este miércoles la detección de dos nuevos casos de viruela símica, ahora, el país registra nueve casos en total de la enfermedad.
Se trata de dos ciudadanos masculinos, uno de 23 años de edad y otro de 41, ambos residentes en el Distrito Nacional.

De acuerdo a las declaraciones del viceministro, estos pacientes tuvieron contacto o cercanía con personas que vinieron del extranjero.
El epidemiólogo descartó que exista la transmisión comunitaria en el territorio nacional.
La República Dominicana trabaja en coordinación con la Organización Panamericana de la Salud (OPS) y el país «está en una lista de espera».
