El Congreso de Perú aprobó el lunes interpelar al ministro de Transportes y Comunicaciones, Geiner Alvarado, por su presunta participación en una red para adjudicar obras de infraestructura a determinadas empresas, a cambio de dinero, con la supuesta anuencia del presidente peruano, Pedro Castillo.
El pleno del Parlamento aprobó la moción de interpelación de Alvarado con 86 votos a favor, 12 en contra y una abstención, para realizarse el próximo 5 de septiembre en la sede del Legislativo.
Alvarado debe responder a un listado de preguntas sobre su presunta participación en una reunión con la esposa de Castillo, Lilia Paredes; la cuñada de Castillo, Yenifer Paredes; el alcalde de Anguía, José Nenil Medina, y los hermanos Espino para coordinar la adjudicación de obras en las provincias de Chota, Chachapoyas y Cajatambo cuando fue ministro de Vivienda hasta el pasado 5 de agosto.
