El Banco de Inglaterra ha aclarado que los billetes con la cara de la reina Isabel II siguen siendo válidos a pesar de su fallecimiento, que ha dado pie al ascenso al trono de su primogénito y heredero, el ya rey Carlos III.
«Los billetes actuales que muestran la imagen de Su Majestad la Reina seguirán siendo de curso legal», reza una nota del regulador financiero, que prevé «nuevos anuncios» una vez haya concluido el periodo de luto.
