Al menos una persona murió y otras cinco resultaron la noche del martes en un motín e intento de fuga en la Penitenciaría Regional de Concepción, ubicada en el departamento homónimo, en Paraguay.
De acuerdo al Ministerio de Justicia, la persona fallecida fue identificada como César Alexánder Cabrera Fernández, de 25 años, quien tenía antecedentes por hurto agravado. Cabrera era uno de los amotinados que portaba un arma de fuego.

La institución estatal, que dispuso la apertura de una investigación, informó que el hecho inició cuando internos del Pabellón ‘F’ de la prisión «abandonaron ese lugar raudamente, tomando parte de los pasillos del establecimiento penitenciario».
Concretamente, el objetivo era que se fugasen presos involucrados en los hechos ocurridos en la ciudad de Pedro Juan Caballero, en el departamento de Amambay, en octubre de 2021, donde fueron asesinadas cuatro personas, entre ellas Haylee Acevedo, hija del entonces gobernador de esa entidad, Ronald Acevedo.
