El Servicio Sismológico Nacional de México reportó este lunes un sismo de magnitud 7,4 a 63 kilómetros al sur de la localidad de Coalcomán (estado de Michoacán), 42 kilómetros al noroeste de La Mira, en el centro del país.
El sismo sacudió edificios y generó escenas de pánico en la capital del país.
El Sistema de Alerta de Tsunamis de EE.UU. emitió un aviso de tsunami, sin embargo, la Coordinación Nacional de Protección Civil señaló que «no se espera la generación de variaciones del nivel del mar debido a la ubicación del epicentro».
El movimiento telúrico ocurre el mismo día de la realización de un simulacro nacional, en conmemoración de dos poderosos terremotos que dejaron miles de muertos en 1985 y 2017.
