Un nuevo terremoto de magnitud 6,9 fue registrado este jueves en Michoacán, una replica del sismo de 7,7 ocurrido en el mismo estado hace tres días, indicó el Servicio Sismológico Nacional (SSN).
“Se han registrado 1.229 réplicas del sismo de magnitud 7.7 ocurrido en Michoacán el 19 de septiembre de 2022, la más grande de magnitud 6.9”, detalló el ente en Twitter. El epicentro del terremoto fue localizado a 84 al sur de Coalcoman y una profundidad de 12 kilómetros.
El sismo fue sentido con fuerza en varias zonas de Ciudad de México y su área metropolitana, situada a unos 400 km del epicentro y donde habitan unos 22 millones de personas.
La jefa de gobierno de la capital Claudia Sheinbaum reportó poco después que dos personas perdieron la vida a causa del nuevo temblor. «Tras la activación de la alerta sísmica, una mujer perdió la vida tras golpearse en la cabeza al caer de las escaleras de su domicilio, en la colonia Doctores», detalló la Secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana de la capital en Twitter. La otra víctima es un hombre que falleció de un infarto.
