La actriz Beatriz Álvarez-Guerra murio a los 28 años de edad en un accidente de tránsito luego de que el vehículo en el que viajaba junto a su novio cayera a un río.
La joven había colaborado en varios cortos, películas y series, entre ellas: Anclados, serie de los creadores de 7 vidas y Aída, así como en las obras de teatro Mi sombrero y La noche árabe. Su último trabajo fue un papel principal en el cortometraje Te fuiste antes que el tiempo, dirigido por Gus Carballo.
El accidente se originó sobre las tres de la tarde de este martes cuando su pareja, de 24 años, llevaba el coche que se precipitó al río. El vehículo se desplomó desde una altura de unos diez metros, tras salirse de la vía en una zona de curvas pronunciadas, según las primeras hipótesis, por un fallo del conductor.
Beatriz Álvarez-Guerra no logró salir del vehículo a pesar de los intentos de su novio, que sin embargo pidió auxilio a otros conductores que se lanzaron al río para intentar sacarla.
El conductor logró abandonar el vehículo por sus propios medios y fue atendido en el lugar por personal sanitario del 061. La Guardia Civil detuvo al joven tras comprobar que no tenía carnet de conducir. Se le investiga por un delito contra la seguridad vial y por homicidio imprudente.
