El Ministerio de Obras Públicas y Comunicaciones informó este jueves que reclamó a la compañía que tiene a cargo la colocación de las nuevas juntas del puente Juan Pablo Duarte para que aumente el ritmo de los trabajos, a fin de que la obra sea abierta totalmente al tránsito vehicular en el más breve tiempo posible.
Información ofrecida este jueves por el viceministro de Pavimentación Vial del MOPC, Mélito Santana Rincón, quien señaló que han sido aumentado los trabajos de instalación de nuevas juntas expansivas en el lado norte del puente Duarte, a fines de brindar apertura al tránsito vehicular en esa parte de la estructura.
El funcionario, quien produjo un descenso de supervisión en el emblemático puente, consideró que los trabajos se retrasaron un poco, ya que las condiciones climáticas han afectado al Gran Santo Domingo en las últimas semanas.
Adelantó que la firma contratista Proyectos Industriales, S. A. (Pinsa), que tiene la responsabilidad contractual de esos trabajos, pondrá un mayor número de técnicos, obreros y maquinarias.
«Es cierto que hemos presentado un leve retraso, pero como ustedes saben hemos sido afectados por un fenómeno atmosférico que ha traído mucha lluvia, y eso ha hecho que el trabajo se haya atrasado un poco, pero hemos solicitado a los contratistas duplicar la jornada laboral, para que en pocos días el MOPC entregue a la ciudadanía un puente totalmente remozado”, enfatizó Santana Rincón, según una nota de prensa del Ministerio de Obras Públicas.
