El ministro de Turismo de la República Dominicana, David Collado, anunció el inicio este martes, de la 28 edición de la conferencia de Florida Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA), que se llevará cabo en la capital dominicana, hasta el viernes de esta semana.
El funcionario dijo que consiguió la sede de la «cumbre de cruceros» como parte de su esfuerzo para fortalecer este segmento turístico, que va en franco crecimiento. Asimismo, destacó la importancia que tiene para el país.
«Con esta reunión de la FCCA, que se llevará a cabo desde este martes hasta el viernes, los ojos de la industria de cruceros a nivel mundial estarán puesto sobre nuestro país y si impacto para seguir creciendo será impresionante», manifestó el ministro Collado, quien encabezará la conferencia anual de la FCCA.
En esta 28 edición de la conferencia de Florida Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) ya han confirmado su participación 500 personalidades de 40 países.
La 28 edición de la conferencia de la FCCA se desarrollará en el Renaissance Santo Domingo Jaragua Hotel & Casino, del 11 al 14 de octubre, donde se realizarán reuniones privadas con líneas de cruceros, paneles de discusión sobre la industria, exhibición de un «Marketplace».
República Dominicana ha logrado un importante posicionamiento del turismo de crucero. En el periodo enero-septiembre de este año el país recibió, por la vía marítima, 800 mil visitantes, entre cruceristas y tripulantes.
La Asociación de Cruceros de Florida y el Caribe (FCCA), es una organización comercial sin fines de lucro compuesta por 22 Empresas de Cruceros afiliadas, las cuales operan más de cien barcos en el Estado de La Florida, el Caribe y América Latina, al tiempo que cuenta con Miembros Platinos compuestos por autoridades gubernamentales, Puertos, Tour operadores y otros prestadores de servicios.
