Varios habitantes de Las Tejerías, en la zona central de Venezuela, recuerdan este domingo los gritos de la tragedia, otros son incapaces de describir la noche del sábado, cuando esta pequeña ciudad fue destruida por una quebrada desbordada, que se llevó a más de un centenar de personas y al menos, 25 murieron y más de 50 siguen desaparecidas.
Con la caída vino la lluvia y, así, bajo el resguardo de sus propias casas, los lugareños fueron presa fácil de la naturaleza que, con la fuerza del agua, perdió vecindarios y dejó decenas de casas tapiadas o soterradas, en tanto vehículos y árboles se movían como si fueran de juguete en la catastrófica noche.
Cuando pasaron las cinco de la tarde, Carlos Castillo prefirió recostarse para descansar un poco mientras afuera llovía. Lo siguiente que recuerda es a una vecina que pedía auxilio, gritos que se revolvían con otros y que terminaron por sacarlo de la cama a toda velocidad.
