La KFOR, la misión de la OTAN para el mantenimiento de la paz en Kosovo, ha aumentado su presencia en el norte de la autoproclamada república esta semana y observa atentamente el desarrollo de los acontecimientos.
«Vigilamos atentamente la situación en el norte de Kosovo. La KFOR tiene la capacidad y el personal para garantizar un entorno seguro y la libertad de movimiento para todas las comunidades en virtud de nuestro mandato de la resolución 1244 del Consejo de Seguridad de la ONU de 1999», anunció la misión en su cuenta de Twitter este viernes, subrayando que reforzó su presencia «incluso con tropas y patrullas adicionales».
«Instamos a todas las partes a comprometerse a garantizar la seguridad y la libertad de movimiento en Kosovo. La KFOR seguirá cumpliendo nuestro mandato de la ONU para todas las comunidades de Kosovo. Las soluciones deben buscarse a través del diálogo», agregó.
