De manera sorpresiva y sin notificarlo a sus familiares, el régimen de Daniel Ortega y Rosario Murillo ha liberado este jueves a 222 de los 245 presos políticos de Nicaragua y ha procedido, de inmediato, a desterrarlos en un avión con destino a Washington.
“El Gobierno de Nicaragua decidió unilateralmente liberar a 222 personas que habían sido encarceladas, incluyendo un ciudadano estadounidense. Algunas de estas personas han pasado años en prisión, muchas de ellas por ejercer sus libertades fundamentales, en pésimas condiciones y sin acceso al debido proceso.Ya van en camino a Washington”, sitando una fuente de El País.
Entre los presos desterrados se encuentran algunos de los estudiantes que fueron encarcelados. “Lesther Alemán y más de 200 presos políticos fueron liberados. Sin embargo, fueron desterrados por el régimen de Ortega hacia Estados Unidos.
Fuentes carcelarias bajo anonimato también han confirmado que desde la noche del miércoles se produjeron “movimientos” dentro de los diferentes penales de Nicaragua. “Si la lista de presos políticos es de 245, quedarían pocos en las cárceles”, expresaron.
Esta decisión del Gobierno de Ortega ocurre dos días después de que la justicia sandinista inhabilitara “de por vida” para ejercer cargos públicos o de elección popular a al menos 14 personas, entre ellos cuatro sacerdotes católicos y presos políticos. El Gobierno no ha confirmado la liberación y destierro a los familiares de los presos políticos.
