Nueva York arranca este jueves una Semana de la Moda (NYFW) en la que participarán más de 80 diseñadores, unos consagrados y otros emergentes, con mayor diversidad racial que en ediciones anteriores y muchos de ellos involucrados o al menos interesados en prácticas de sostenibilidad.
Aunque el calendario oficial inicia mañana viernes, una de las organizadoras, la empresa IMG, incluye hoy por la tarde como pistoletazo de salida los desfiles de otoño-invierno 2023 de Christian Siriano y Victor de Souza, conocidos por sus diseños femeninos y glamurosos que suelen seducir a las celebridades.
La NYFW sufre desde hace años un éxodo de nombres veteranos, entre ellos emblemas «made in USA» como Ralph Lauren o Tommy Hilfiger, un vacío que se ha ido llenado con firmas emergentes impulsadas por el propio gremio de diseñadores o por revistas importantes del sector, como Gabriela Hearst, Elena Vélez, Laquan Smith o Luar.
