El presidente de Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, recibió al secretario del Consejo de Seguridad de Rusia, Nikolái Pátrushev, con el objetivo de revisar el mapa de cooperación que mantienen ambos países.
En el encuentro con el jefe de Estado participaron también los secretarios adjuntos del Consejo de Seguridad, el embajador de Rusia en Venezuela, Sergey Mélik-Bagdasárov, y el ministro de la Defensa del país caribeño, Vladimir Padrino López.
Los funcionarios repasaron los «desafíos de la geopolítica actual, los avances de las relaciones entre Venezuela y Rusia y el papel de ambas naciones en el rechazo de las medidas coercitivas unilaterales», señaló el canal estatal VTV, que transmitió imágenes del encuentro.
Asimismo, dijo que evaluaron la seguridad regional en América Latina y el Caribe, la cooperación militar y la defensa civil.
