República Dominicana.- Las provincias en alerta a causa de las lluvias aumentaron este sábado de siete a quince, según el Centro de Operaciones de Emergencias (COE), que informó de que 53 personas fueron evacuadas en el noroeste por las precipitaciones.
Montecristi, que estaba en alerta roja (máxima), bajó a amarilla, nivel en el que también se encuentran Valverde y Santiago Rodríguez.
Mientras, en alerta verde están Santo Domingo, el Distrito Nacional, Dajabón, Monseñor Nouel, Santiago, Sánchez Ramírez, La Vega, Monte Plata, Puerto Plata, San Cristóbal, Hato Mayor y San Pedro de Macorís.
Las alertas fueron declaradas por posibles crecidas de ríos, arroyos y cañadas, así como inundaciones repentinas o urbanas.
De acuerdo con el informe del COE, 53 personas, entre adultos y niños, fueron evacuadas de sus hogares a causa de las lluvias en la comunidad de Guayabito, en Montecristi, y llevadas al local de la defensa civil de Santiago Rodríguez.
