El Gobierno mexicano desplegó más de 18.000 elementos de las Fuerzas Armadas ante el avance del huracán Hilary, que podría tocar tierra durante el fin de semana en la península de Baja California, en México, y después ingresar a California (EE.UU.).

Conagua señaló que en los estados afectados por el huracán Hilary —Baja California, Baja California Sur, Sonora, Sinaloa y Colima— podrían registrarse tormentas eléctricas y deslaves, así como un aumento del caudal de ríos y arroyos que derive en desbordamientos e inundaciones durante la madrugada del sábado 19 de agosto, por lo que ha pedido a la población que esté atenta a los avisos y recomendaciones de las autoridades.
