Benjamin Netanyahu advirtió este miércoles que “cada miembro de Hamás es hombre muerto”, luego de anunciar un Gobierno de emergencia en unión con el líder de la oposición y ex ministro de Defensa Benny Gantz, mientras dure la guerra con el grupo terrorista palestino de Gaza.
“Ambos acordaron el establecimiento de un gobierno de emergencia y un gabinete de gestión de la guerra”, informó un comunicado conjunto firmado por ambos líderes.
El acuerdo indica que Gantz, junto al ex ministro de Justicia, Gideon Saar; otro ex jefe del Estado Mayor del Ejército, Gadi Eisenkot, y otros dos diputados se integrarán al gabinete político y de seguridad del Gobierno por la duración de la guerra. Los cinco son miembros del partido de centro-derecha Unidad Nacional, comandado por Gantz.
El gabinete de gestión de la guerra estará integrado por Netanyahu, Gantz y el actual ministro de Defensa, Yoav Gallant.
Eisenkot y el ministro de Asuntos Estratégicos, Ron Dermer, actuarán como observadores de este gabinete, indicó en el comunicado.
Además, se reservará un sitio en el gabinete de gestión de la guerra para Yair Lapid, quien junto a Gantz son los dos miembros más fuertes de la oposición a la coalición de Netanyahu en el Parlamento.
Las negociaciones para la inclusión de Lapid aún no han concluido y medios locales explican que se debe a desacuerdos con los socios ultraderechistas de coalición de Netanyahu.
Por último, el acuerdo establece que, mientras dure la guerra, no se podrán impulsar proyectos de ley ni tomar decisiones gubernamentales que no se vinculen al conflicto con las milicias.
“Israel antes que nada”, escribió Gantz en un post en las redes sociales, mientras que el ministro de Seguridad Nacional, el ultraderechista Itamar Ben-Gvir, escribió que “da la bienvenida a la unidad, ahora debemos ganar”.
La guerra, que comenzó el sábado con un sangriento ataque sorpresa del grupo terrorista Hamás, marca hoy su quinto día de combates y ha dejado ya más de 1.200 muertos en Israel y al menos 1.055 en la Franja de Gaza.
Gantz ya fue socio de gobierno de Netanyahu en el pasado, pero sus rencillas internas y la negativa de Netanyahu a cumplir el acuerdo de rotación entre ambos hicieron caer la coalición.
Desde entonces, Gantz se ha mantenido en el bando contrario al actual primer ministro y se ha negado en múltiples ocasiones a integrarse en su gobierno.
