Hace ya un mes que el bitcóin (BTC) circula como moneda de curso legal en El Salvador, pero todavía hay más dudas que certezas sobre su pertinencia: en la sociedad civil muchos no comparten el entusiasmo gubernamental.
Eso sí, al bitcóin hay que reconocerle el mérito de que miles de salvadoreños con distintas corrientes de pensamiento (algunas casi antagónicas) se pusieran de acuerdo en el rechazo a una divisa a la que, francamente, no le ven demasiado uso, aunque el Gobierno diga lo contrario.
Así, solo una semana después de que la mayoría oficialista de la Asamblea Legislativa aprobara la llamada Ley Bitcóin, propuesta apenas tres meses antes, decenas de miles de personas marcharon en San Salvador contra esa y otras medidas de la actual administración.
Según constató Sputnik, la reticencia popular se sostiene en dos pilares: la manera en que fue impuesta esta variante, cuya falta de regulación propicia ciertos delitos financieros, y el uso de fondos públicos para comprar un activo extremadamente volátil, sin garantías.
