El régimen de Kim Jong-un disparó este jueves un nuevo modelo de misil balístico de largo alcance, según Corea del Sur, desatando el pánico en el norte de Japón, donde se instó a los residentes a que se cubrieran, aunque finalmente no generó peligro.
Un oficial militar surcoreano señaló que el misil parecía haber sido una nueva arma exhibida en recientes desfiles militares norcoreanos, y posiblemente utilizaba combustible sólido.
El misil voló unos 1.000 km, informó el ejército de Corea del Sur, calificándolo de “grave provocación”. El oficial dijo que la altitud máxima del misil era inferior a 6.000 km, el apogeo de algunas de las pruebas que batieron récords el año pasado.
“Hasta ahora creemos que han disparado un nuevo tipo de misil balístico de alcance intermedio o intercontinental”, indicó el funcionario. “Todavía estamos analizando detalles como la trayectoria, la altitud y el alcance, con la posibilidad de que llevara un propulsor de combustible sólido”.
