La operación militar especial de Moscú en Ucrania terminaría en unos días si la OTAN dejara de dotar a Kiev con armas ahora, declaró este miércoles el vicejefe del Consejo de Seguridad de Rusia, Dmitri Medvédev.
«Si la OTAN, sobre todo, EE.UU. y sus vasallos cesaran el suministro de armas y de medios de destrucción a Ucrania, la operación militar especial llegaría a su fin literalmente en unos meses, pero si dejaran de proporcionar sus armas ahora, el operativo terminaría en unos días», dijo el alto funcionario en comentarios a la agencia TASS.
Asimismo, Medvédev, quien también es expresidente de Rusia, estimó que se puede poner fin «rápidamente a cualquier guerra», bien a través de la firma de un acuerdo de paz, bien, tal y como hizo EE.UU. en agosto de 1945, con los bombardeos de Hiroshima y Nagasaki. «[Los estadounidenses] realmente acabaron su campaña militar. El precio fue la vida de casi 300.000 civiles», dijo.
«Nuestro Ejército es moderno y heroico, pese a que claro que tiene ciertos problemas, como cualquier Ejército», respondió el exmandatario a las críticas de algunos expertos occidentales que consideran que las tropas rusas combaten con «armas y métodos del siglo pasado».
La jornada del lunes el vicejefe del Consejo de Seguridad ruso advirtió que el apocalipsis nuclear «no solo es posible, sino también probable», ya que ahora el mundo se halla «al borde de una tercera guerra mundial», en medio de un «enfrentamiento total» entre el llamado Occidente colectivo y el resto del mundo.
El alto funcionario sostiene que resolver las divergencias persistentes con un conflicto global no sería una opción, dado que no habría ganadores tras un eventual uso de armas nucleares.
