La Fiscalía de Perú ha pedido que se apliquen 36 meses de prisión preventiva contra el expresidente Pedro Castillo, destituido en diciembre pasado por el Congreso de ese país, acusado por la presunta comisión de delitos de organización criminal, colusión y tráfico de influencias durante su Gobierno (julio 2021-diciembre 2022).
De acuerdo con el Ministerio Público peruano, la solicitud de privativa de libertad contra Castillo, quien se encuentra encarcelado desde el 7 de diciembre de 2022 tras ser vacado por el Parlamento y acusado por supuesta rebelión, fue emitida por la Segunda Fiscalía Suprema Transitoria Especializada en Delitos Cometidos por Funcionarios Públicos.
La institución también solicitó que la medida sea extendida por los mismos delitos a dos exministros de Castillo: Juan Silva Villegas, quien estuvo al frente de la cartera de Transportes y Comunicaciones, y Geiner Alvarado López, que fue responsable del despacho de Vivienda, Construcción y Saneamiento, y también dirigió el Ministerio de Transportes y Comunicaciones.
