República Dominicana. – El presidente Luis Abinader declaró de alta prioridad nacional la implementación de una política de ahorro y eficiencia energética en todos los órganos de la Administración Pública que se encuentran bajo la dependencia del Poder Ejecutivo. La medida se tomó mediante el decreto 158-23, de fecha de hoy.
El documento parte de la premisa de que los órganos de la Administración deben adoptar medidas que sirvan como modelo a seguir por parte de la ciudadanía y las empresas privadas, fomentando una cultura de responsabilidad ambiental y energética en todo el país.
Se indica que esta línea de acción es necesaria para lograr los objetivos de la Ley núm. 1-12, que establece la Estrategia Nacional de Desarrollo 2030, y constituye una práctica de gobierno propia de la idea de la Buena Administración.
El decreto dispone dos categorías de consumidores estatales de conformidad a la sumatoria de todos sus suministros de energía interconectados a la Red Eléctrica y dispone obligaciones para cada caso.
Además, desarrolla iniciativas sobre consumo energético, desarrollando medidas en materia de ahorro y eficiencia energética, que van desde aspectos relacionados a la temperatura de los condensadores de aire a criterios sobre el alumbrado público de las instituciones.
