El delantero Kylian Mbappé anotó este domingo dos goles en el partido de octavos de final del Mundial de Catar 2022 en la victoria de Francia ante Polonia 3-1, acumulando así un total de nueve goles en 11 encuentros en dos citas mundialistas.
De esta manera Mbappé igualó en goles a Lionel Messi, además de haber superado a Cristiano Ronaldo, quien en cinco mundiales ha marcado ocho tantos. También se convirtió en el primer jugador de la historia en llegar a nueve goles en un Mundial antes de los 24 años, rebasando la marca del brasileño Pelé, que a los 22 años había anotado siete tantos en dos Mundiales (1958 y 1962).
