El presidente mexicano, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, reveló que «no descarta» apoyar la solicitud de ayuda del narcotraficante Joaquín «el Chapo» Guzmán, quien pide su traslado a México porque alega violaciones a sus derechos humanos en EE.UU.
«Cuando se trata de derechos humanos hay vías y hay instancias internacionales, entonces no es descartar porque el principal de los derechos humanos es el derecho a la vida, entonces a cualquier persona se le tiene que garantizar este derecho», expresó el mandatario en su rueda de prensa diaria.
López Obrador confirmó que el abogado del Chapo, condenado a cadena perpetua en 2019 por un tribunal de Nueva York, «presentó una solicitud por medios electrónicos» en la Embajada de México en Estados Unidos el 10 de enero.
Su abogado, José Refugio Rodríguez, ha declarado a medios que el narcotraficante pidió hablar con López Obrador para comunicarle el trato que recibe en la cárcel de Colorado en la que está y plantearle la posibilidad de su traslado a México.
