República Dominicana.- El Ministerio de Salud Pública y Asistencia Social (MISPAS), a través del Viceministerio de Salud Colectiva y su Dirección General de Epidemiologia (DIGEPI), notifica a la población, la confirmación mediante análisis correspondiente de tres nuevos casos de cólera, correspondientes a un masculino de 59 años de edad, una femenina de 16, ambos de nacionalidad haitiana uno de ellos ingresó al país recientemente y el tercer caso es un masculino de 57 años, dominicano residente en Villa Francisca.
Los pacientes fueron evaluados y tratados con el tratamiento adecuado entre el 02 y 03 del presente mes de marzo, al presentar diarrea acuosa, pero sin complicaciones debido a que no se encontraban deshidratados, por lo que ya estabilizados fueron enviados a sus hogares para continuar con sus respectivos tratamientos.
El reporte epidemiológico de este día notifica cero ocupación de camas hospitalarias por cólera y estableciendo que hasta la fecha no se ha reportado oficialmente ningún fallecido, mientras que más 88 pacientes se han recuperado de manera satisfactoria de la enfermedad.
De igual manera, las Direcciones de Áreas de Salud (DAS) I, II, IV, V, junto al Viceministerio de Salud Colectiva, a través de su Dirección de Epidemiologia y su Dirección de Gestión de Riesgo mantienen los operativos preventivos, de seguimiento y control de casos y la intervención permanente en los sectores identificados para detectar cualquier sospecha u emergencia que pudiere presentarse.
De acuerdo con el reporte epidemiológico hasta el momento no hay familiares de los pacientes con síntomas sospechosos de la enfermedad. El Ministerio de Salud Pública se mantiene exhortando a la población a cuidarse y si presenta cuadros de evacuaciones diarreicas acuosas varias veces en el día, mantenerse bien hidratados y acudir inmediatamente al centro de salud más cercano.
