República Dominicana. – El Senado de la República aprobó en única lectura el Convenio Constitutivo de la Agencia Latinoamericana y Caribeña del Espacio (ALCE), firmado en México el 8 de febrero de 2022.
El acuerdo, presentado por el Poder Ejecutivo, tiene como objetivo fundamental fortalecer los vínculos y la coordinación entre sus Estados miembros, en el ámbito espacial, mediante la elaboración o participación en programas, proyectos, investigaciones, estudios, iniciativas y/o acciones.
Con la iniciativa se podrá planificar y ejecutar actividades relacionadas con la exploración y utilización pacífica del espacio ultraterrestre, la luna y otros cuerpos celestes. Además, fortalecer y apoyar las capacidades espaciales de los Estados miembros mediante actividades científicas, académicas, tecnológicas, de investigación, desarrollo, innovación, emprendimiento y de capacitación continua.
